Minimum Skills/Requirements

M.D. in OB/GYN. New Mexico State M.D. License required. Three to five years experience in OB/GYN. Prefer board certified or eligible.
Requires detailed knowledge of OB/GYN in terms of theories and practices to serve as the resource or educator to other practitioners in the OB/GYN field. This staff member must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of patients served.
Primary Job Functions

Provides hands on patient care as an OB/GYN presenting to Socorro General Hospital or its Womens Health Clinic as either in or out patients ages adolescent to geriatric.
. Provides healthcare (hands:on) services to OB/GYN patients, ages adolescent to geriatric through the MSC (out:patient), hospital emergency service and in:patient.

. Maintains 32 hours per week in scheduled office practice.

. Provides OB/GYN on:call coverage on a rotating basis with other OB/GYN(s).

. Maintains all necessary licensure, etc. to qualify for membership on the active medical staff of the Espanola Hospital and abide by said Medical Staff Bylaws, rules and regulations.

. Coordinates and assists in providing wellness programs through the MSC to include health education on OB/GYN to patients age adolescent to geriatric as well as provides inservice programs to hospital/medical staff.

. Assists and coordinates in planning/needs assessment MSC and OB/GYN services.

. Maintains communication with hospital and medical staff to include coordination of work activities in the MSC.

. Assists the Medical Director and Administrator in personnel management functions through formal recommendation, budgetary planning and development and implementation of policies and procedures as relates to areas of expertise.

. Keeps current in the field of OB/GYN through participation in workshops, seminars, etc.

. Performs other functions as required.
